The National Writing Project is the nation’s largest network of teacher-leaders, K–university and across the curriculum, working together through local Writing Project sites to improve the teaching of writing and learning in schools and communities nationwide.

The CWP-Storrs, one of the oldest sites of the National Writing Project, was established at
the University of Connecticut in 1982. Through its annual Summer Institute, the CWP offers
opportunities for professional growth to teachers in all disciplines who recognize the worth of
using writing as a means of learning any subject matter. In addition, the CWP offers
professional development services to schools as well as several venues for students and
teachers to publish their writing, including Connecticut Student Writers Magazine, its annual
collection of writing and art by Connecticut K-12 students.

Used at over 1000 global institutions, WCONLINE is a schedule management solution designed for the specific needs of writing and learning centers. Customers using WCONLINE have reported improved student appointment volumes and a decrease in the day-to-day administrative tasks at their centers.
Given WCONLINE’s wide adoption across college campuses, high school graduates will most likely encounter WCONLINE somewhere during their college career. By introducing the platform early, we can equip secondary school students to more easily seek the support they need as they transition to a more self-directed academic environment post graduation.
