We welcome members from all of the following:
- Established Secondary School Writing and Peer Tutoring Centers
- Brand New Secondary School Writing and Peer Tutoring Centers
- Postsecondary School Writing and Peer Tutoring Centers
- Independent parties interested in establishing and/or supporting writing centers in their educational institutions (Administrators, Department Chairs, Prospective Directors, Tutors, etc.)
SSWCA offers three membership tiers:
- Full center membership to cover all directors and tutors within the same building: $65
- Individual professional membership for directors without a center or educators interested in secondary school writing and peer tutoring centers: $45
- Individual student membership for high school or college students: $30
2022-2023 memberships expire on June 30, 2023. 2023-2024 memberships available starting in June. All memberships are active for one academic year.
As a member of SSWCA, your school will have access to:

- The opportunity to attend Planting, Nurturing, Pruning, Thriving: SSWCA 2024 Conference for a reduced fee

- The opportunity to contribute to a community that advocates for sustaining and building the legitimacy of peer tutoring centers through several platforms

- The opportunity to run for an Executive Board position
- The opportunity to purchase SSWCA tutor leadership medals
- The option to add on a The Journal of Peer Tutoring in Secondary Schools print copy subscription.
Your membership fees cover: accounting assistance; fees required by the state or Federal government; website, newsletter, and mailing costs; operational fees; promotional materials; general materials and supplies; and possible grants for new or underfunded schools and/or tutors to attend SSWCA events.

| SSWCA has created tutor leadership medals and recommends centers award them to tutor leaders who have made a meaningful contribution to their community through tutor leadership, or other SSWCA initiatives or programs at large. As the medals have to be bulk ordered, the cost will range between $5 and $10 depending on the quantity ordered by our organization. A $15 flat shipping fee will be added to any total orders if not picked up at the annual conference. Medals will be ordered once every school year. |
Interested in ordering medals? Email admin@sswca.org by January 31st with your name, number of medals, and shipping or conference pick-up. Finalized payment amount and order confirmation will be sent out the beginning of February.

SSWCA is proud to support secondary schools from across the United States and internationally. We have six US regions so that each member school has a representative to whom they can reach out.
