SSWCA hosts digital roundtables on various topics of interest to secondary school writing and peer tutoring center directors and tutors throughout the year.
All meetings are held on Zoom and last approximately one hour. As always, our member schools participate in these sessions for free; join or renew your membership here. For the 2026-27 school year, Digital Roundtables are free for all registrants, whether they are SSWCA members or not.
All individuals who want to participate must register ahead of time for each digital roundtable of interest. Space is limited to allow participants to engage in small-group, collaborative discussions. Registered participants are emailed a Zoom link and guiding questions a prior to the digital roundtable. For security reasons, we cannot admit individuals who are not pre-registered, so please ensure the name on your Zoom account matches the name you used to register.

Fall Directors Meetup!

Join board members of the Secondary School Writing Center Association for a virtual Fall Directors Meetup designed to connect writing center directors as the new school year gets underway. This informal digital roundtable will provide an open forum to share ideas, discuss challenges, and learn from colleagues. Together, we’ll brainstorm strategies for strengthening our writing center communities. Come with questions, ideas, or simply a desire to connect and leave with fresh perspectives and practical inspiration for the year ahead!
College Essay Peer Review Workshop
Thursday, October 22nd, 7:00pm EST
Do you need help with writing your personal statement or supplementals? Need an outside perspective from a tutor beyond your state and/or region? Join us at the College Essay Peer Review Workshop on October 22nd at 7:00 PM EST! Each attendee will be paired with another tutor; you’ll switch between reading your own work, receiving suggestions, and then offering such aid to your partner. You’ll have the opportunity to tutor while also serving as the tutee of a fellow senior!
